Dianne and I would like to take some time to let others know how God is working to bring aid and comfort to our family in this time of crisis.
-
First and most importantly, friends, family and strangers from around the world are praying for Tyler and our family.
-
Neighbors are cooking meals and keeping our lawn mowed.
- Family members have cleaned our house from top to bottom.
- Friends have purchased parking vouchers and gas cards to help us with our traveling expenses.
- Friends, family and co-workers have written checks and sent cash to help us out financially.
- An overwhelming amount of meals, snacks and desserts have been purchased or prepared for our family.
- We all have received countless cards and letters.
- Tyler’s school, Chapelgate, supported us and helped us navigate getting him enrolled in tutoring.
- Tyler is receiving some of the best health care in the world, by oncologists with world recognition.
- Our places of employment have been extremely flexible with leave time.
- Tyler has received countless toys, electronics, books, clothes and food to help keep him occupied in the hospital.
- Fundraisers and special events are being organized to help Tyler.
- Numerous visits, especially from Tyler’s peers, have been lifting his spirits; we appreciate the efforts of the adults who are taking time out of their schedules to drive to the hospital and wait for hours while their kids spend time with our son.
- Friends have shaved their heads in solidarity with Tyler.
- Countless people have extended open offers, “Just let me know what I can do.”
- Friends, family, co-workers and neighbors have offered to donate their bone marrow.
- The nursing staff at Johns Hopkins Pediatric Oncology have been stellar.
- Co-workers are donating their leave time, enabling Dianne and me to spend more time with our son.
- Friends who live close to Johns Hopkins have offered their homes to us to minimize travel and cost.
- I’m sure I missed something, but not because it wasn’t greatly appreciated!
