Many are asking how Tyler is doing. Since our last post, Tyler is definitely holding his own. He has been reaching his fluid intake goal of 3 liters every day, sometimes exceeding it! He’s been able to tolerate eating a bit better as well, and is starting to notice he can taste things a little better. He’s also walking the hallways more, getting much needed exercise.
Tyler’s blood counts are still much too low to consider starting his next course of chemo. The minimum waiting period is 21 days, so it looks like Tyler will definitely need longer than that.
Tyler is experiencing the typical struggles of a teen with a cancer diagnosis. He has been hospitalized for 33 days and is facing a lot of uncertainty in his life. Please pray for him to have peace during a time when no one can give him clear answers to his questions about his future. It is tough on all of us, but obviously toughest on Tyler.
Ron and I are finally getting to sit down with Tyler’s doctors, including a transplant doctor, tomorrow evening. We’ll let you know what we learn.
Thanks for your continued prayers!
