Tyler had an NG tube placed a few hours ago.

That was a trauma neither he nor I is ever likely to forget, made much worse by the pain of his mucositis.  Now that it’s done, the hope is he will have relief on the horizon.  He will get all nutrition via the tube, as well as his chemo and other oral medications.

He no longer has to pressure himself to eat or drink.  Getting nourishment should only help speed up his count recovery, which in turn should help heal his mucositis. If all goes well, Tyler should only have the tube for about two weeks.

Tyler is feeling overwhelmed.  Having a tube taped to his cheek is yet another assault on the normalcy he is battling to keep in his life.

Thank you for all the many prayers for Tyler these past couple days!  His nausea was well controlled during the day yesterday, which was a true answer to prayer.

His pain from the mucositis continues to be intense.  Hopefully they can get the right dosing of morphine that will lessen his pain while allowing him to stay alert and functional.
