Tyler’s body continues to try to fight his infection, resulting in continued low blood pressure.  The first part of the day, Tyler required the highest level of dopamine he’s been on yet.  This was so incredibly discouraging to all of us as there just didn’t seem to be an end in sight to the misery of the ICU.  This afternoon, Ron has him moving around more in his bed, and this has helped a little bit.  He’s also been watching some comedy on TV, and laughter in this case does seem to be good medicine!

The challenge is for Tyler to sustain a good blood pressure while on the dopamine, even when he is sleeping, so they can safely try to wean him off.  As I mentioned in the last post, he must be off the dopamine and sustain good pressure for 12 hours before he can return to the oncology ward.

Please continue to pray for his body to recover from this infection as speedily as possible, and for his spirits.  The ICU has a terrible impact on his spirit, and this in turn has an adverse impact on his blood pressure.   I am getting ready to head out and do another night shift by his bedside.  Pray for Ron’s and my health again – this is no way to live, and I’m fearful we will get sick when Tyler needs us the most.

We are so aware of your prayers and love – thank you so much!
