The transfusion is complete.  Tyler became very ill during the procedure – violent vomiting, chills, headache and high blood pressure.  We were told this is normal, especially since the cells were an incompatible blood type.  He is now asleep, but will still be getting frequent checks of vital signs.

I can hardly believe we are now officially on the other side of the transplant.  Still a long way to go, but with four and a half months of intensive treatment now behind us.  Tyler will get four more doses of chemo, treatment for CMV, Cyclosporine (anti-rejection), and other preventative treatments.  He will have his girth measured twice a day to check for swelling of the liver, and his weight taken to check for fluid retention.  He is being well taken care of!  All of your fervent prayers were deeply felt during these past two days.  We are so thankful to have all of you in our lives, caring about our son and about us!
