So it ended up being another of those up and down days. Tyler’s lungs did NOT like being dropped to a Delta p of 58 earlier today. His CO2 gases were very high – one time going above 100 – and he had to be brought up to 65, where he remains now. Usually his O2 is great, but today it dropped pretty low. As usual, no one can really say why this happened, other than he just decompensated with that last wean.

Poor guy is getting more blisters all over his skin. His fever stayed away all day, so that’s a good thing. I know the readers of this site get disappointed just like we do. I have no doubt God still has His hand on Tyler and that we just need to be patient for His timing. Please continue to pray for a resolution to this latest infection and for protection from future infections. Pray that the secretions in his lungs continue to break up so they can be suctioned out. Pray for his lungs to heal and his skin to heal. And as always, pray he can come off the oscillator as soon as possible! Thank you all for being such a huge prayer support – we feel so encouraged, even on the disappointing days.
