We just spoke with the GI specialist who will perform Tyler’s endoscopy. It won’t happen until tomorrow (around noon) since the OR is not fully staffed today, and they feel Tyler is stable enough to wait one more day in order to do it in safer surroundings.
So as we wait, please pray that Tyler will receive all the blood he needs in the meantime, that he won’t be harmed by the donated blood, and that the Flagyl does its job of stopping the bacterial overgrowth.
On other fronts, Tyler had small weans from dilaudid and valium today. He also has had two weans on his ventilator as he was actually being OVER oxygenated (big change from Thursday!). He continues to open his eyes frequently, but is unable to blink or squint on request like he did early Friday morning when his life was miraculously saved. I think that his squinting at Ron’s request that incredible night was God making it crystal clear that Tyler’s brain had not been damaged by the extended lack of oxygen, and also to show that He is capable of things that can’t be possible in the natural world.
