Tyler made it home! The discharge took much longer than expected since this was his first time going home with a prescription of chemo (sorafenib). The pharmacy was confused about the dosing, then our insurance company required a pre-authorization which wasn’t ready yet. But we’re home, and that’s all that matters!!!
Ty goes back to clinic this Friday, then again on January 5th, 6th and 13th for pre-transplant evaluations, labs, and an OR procedure. We’re hoping those will be the only appointments between now and January 17th when Tyler returns to Hopkins. Staying healthy is our top priority!
We are very mindful of just how blessed we’ve been to have Tyler home for his birthday, then Thanksgiving, and now Christmas and New Year’s. His doctor today said the timing of this count recovery and discharge really defied expectations.
