If you can take a moment to pray right now, Tyler is at this moment undergoing a two to four hour angiogram under general anesthesia. Any procedure is risky for him; this one especially so.

A lot happened last night. Tyler’s type of bleeding changed overnight to a much faster flow. He required lots of transfusions, but they couldn’t keep up with his blood loss. Because the flow rate increased, he became eligible for an angiogram of the vessels in his GI tract. Doctors have wanted to get a look inside Tyler’s vasculature for weeks now, but couldn’t do so with his type of slow, oozing bleed.

While it’s not good that Tyler is bleeding at a faster and greater rate, it’s definitely good that they now have a chance to take a look inside. With this procedure, they can also potentially embolize (repair) any bleeding vessels they see. All we know for sure is that the angiogram will give his medical team information that can hopefully guide future treatment.

Ron and I prayed last night for guidance about some high risk options that were being presented. We asked God to take the decision out of our hands if possible. We arrived early this morning to find that is exactly what had happened. Thank you for your continued prayers!
