Tyler’s last IV chemo was Wednesday morning.  He never got the expected eye infection with the high dose Ara-C and no longer has to take the steroid drops!  He started taking the sorafenib Wednesday night, and unfortunately almost immediately started back with the rash.  Since it’s still very mild right now, they are continuing to give him the medication at half dose, and if the rash doesn’t worsen will actually try to put him back to full dose.  Prayers for success with this, please!  We really, really want him to get the sorafenib to help give him a better chance.

Other than the rash and fatique, Tyler’s been doing great the past three days.  We are so grateful and feel like we really dodged a bullet!  They’ll continue to closely monitor for mouth and throat sores, but so far so good with that.

We also got some terrific results back this week from Tyler’s bone marrow testing.  After course two, he still shows less than 0.1% of leukemia!  Also, the marker for FLT-3 was negative!  The treatment Tyler’s receiving is working!  The key is for there to be as few leukemia cells as possible when he gets his transplant, so all is looking really good for that at this point.

Thanks again for your faithful prayers!
