Just a quick update.  Tyler continues to do well!  He is in the calm-before-the-storm phase.  The immediate effects of the chemo and transplant are mostly over, except for fatigue.  His counts are dropping lower, and the early stages of mucositis started last night.  But, he is still eating at this point, which is really great.

The “storm” that is to come will involve the more serious side effects from the chemo that take hold when counts drop: mucositis, GI issues, fever and infection.  As with his previous chemo courses, these side effects will resolve as his counts start to recover.  This time around though, when his counts start to recover, the new cells will start to engraft. Engraftment brings many possible serious side effects.  So as always, we enjoy each day he has that is a good one!
