Things are not going so well. Tyler is having low blood pressure again. Damaged by the Bulsulfan chemo, his capillaries are leaking fluid, which is causing the hypotension. The leaking capillaries are also causing fluid to build up in his body at an alarming rate – he is very swollen and has gained 4 kilos since this morning. The swelling is causing considerable pain and discomfort. His kidneys are struggling and unable to absorb enough of the sodium and potassium that’s being infused. Because of his low sodium levels, Tyler is restricted from drinking water. As water was the only thing he was enjoying, he is very upset about this. He can only drink high sodium liquids, but many of these hurt his mouth and throat sores.
