His blood gases were decent enough for them to wean him down to 58 on the Delta p. Toward the end of the evening, if his gases continue to look good, they want to do another wean to 56. This will be the lowest Delta p he has ever tolerated since going on the oscillator.
His kidneys are doing a great job with the support of a Lasix drip. His bilirubin continues to rise, so today they ordered an ultrasound to see if there are signs of liver and gallbladder issues related to the IV nutrition, as opposed to VOD. If so, they will discontinue his defibrotide, which will be a great thing. If not, they will wait a few more days and then discontinue it.
