Tyler’s day was really pretty good considering the doctors’ predictions yesterday. Although his lungs continued to look their worst yet on xray, his blood gases were good enough that they weaned him twice on the oscillator. Also, there were times throughout the day where Tyler did not require any medication to maintain a good blood pressure. They are still working on getting his GI bleeding to stop. He has tolerated suctioning and being moved without going into crisis.
Nothing has grown yet from his lung sample yesterday, so we’re still waiting for that, but it did show a high level of inflammatory cells in his lungs. Along with so many other issues in his lungs, the inflammation is his worst enemy right now. He’s a very sick boy, but our confidence in his healing is growing!
