Just after I sent my last post, Tyler started to crash. The team came running and was able to get him stabilized fairly quickly. He is now receiving the higher dose of Factor VII, and we’re praying hard that it makes the difference over the next 24 hours.

I am posting now to share an amazing experience we just had. As Tyler’s day Fellow was leaving at the end of his shift, he asked if we’d like to pray with him for Ty. The oncoming Fellow had just entered the room, and she said she’d like to join in. Ron, Trish (Ron’s sister), the two doctors and I all held hands while each doctor took turns praying.

They prayed beautiful, heartfelt, lengthy prayers. And this happened right after his departing attending doctor gowned up to say goodbye to Tyler and ended up standing at his bedside praying for him. I can’t even begin to say what those encounters meant to me! We’ve been at Hopkins on almost a daily basis for nearly seven months, and nothing like this has ever happened. What a blessing and encouragement in the midst of so much chaos.
