For the first time, Ty’s strong, strong heart seems to be failing under the pressure it’s under. They are now adding a third medication to keep his blood pressure up. He is still losing blood as fast as it is transfused in. His liver and spleen are enlarged and contributing even more to how distended his belly is.

There are early indications that his kidneys may be in trouble again. Complicating matters is one of his right PICC lumens failed again, so he can’t get 3 of his current meds and cannot receive any additional meds they want to start.

Doors are closing for other options, and the Factor VII isn’t working. He is getting tests to check for clots and heart damage, but at this point it would only be informative as they can’t treat anything anyway due to his bleeding.

In the midst of all this, Tyler is finally comfortably sedated, and we don’t believe he is suffering. Tyler has reached the stage (again) where it’s not looking as if medical science can help him survive this. And it’s not for lack of trying! They have pulled out the stops and tried many, many treatments that they’ve never used before in similar circumstances. It’s up to God now, and I’m comfortable with that!
